BS5837 Tree Surveys for Planning
The BS5837 standard provides guidance on identifying the constraints trees pose to a proposed development and assessing the quality of trees in relation to a change in land use, ensuring trees are appropriately considered and successfully retained during development, where feasible. Wharton provides tree surveys for planning applications.
Trees surveys & Inspections
Although tree-related fatalities are very rare, tree owners have a legal responsibility and ‘duty of care’ to ensure their trees do not pose an unacceptable risk. Surveys are individually tailored to meet specific requirements of each client and following relevant guidance of the National Tree Safety Groups (NTSG) and Lantra.
Tree Law & Legislation
Through experience both within the public and private sectors our consultants are able to provide expert advice in relation to a wide range of tree related legal matters. Providing preliminary assessments and advice, through to full expert witness testimony to the court, we provide knowledgeable and experienced input to help guide and inform on tree related legal matters.
Mortgage subsidence & Insurance
Wharton offers specialist technical expertise where trees (or other woody vegetation) have been implicated in subsidence damage to a property. Our consultants work independently, or as part of a team of specialists, to systematically explore all avenues to identify the actual problem.
Government Support
Wharton provide an arboricultural consultancy service to various local authorities throughout the Midlands and London. With our consultants having previously worked within the public sector, both in the planning and tree management sides, we understand the considerable public pressure in relation to how trees are managed by local authorities.
